Welcome to the Broxbourne Rowing Club website! We are friendly rowing club with a fine fleet of boats, a fully equipped gym, and a modern, spacious club house with a bar. We row pretty much undisturbed on a delightful stretch of the river Lea. We compete vigorously and successfully in local and national races and welcome all including senior, masters, beginners, juniors and recreational rowers.

If you haven't rowed before, the sport provides full-body outdoor fitness, stimulates your senses and challenges you physically. There are few things as exhilarating as rowing at full pressure in a well synchronised crew. We run regular Learn to Row courses for juniors and adults to set you on your way.

If you are a more experienced rower, you will find a racing crew to meet your aspirations, whether you want to compete at Henley, in the masters world championships, or national and provincial races. Some prefer to enjoy recreational rowing and our touring boats travel far and wide on long weekends away, or compete in pageant-spectaculars like the Great River Race.

We also welcome aspiring and experienced coaches and coxes. These vital members of the club have the opportunity to make a real difference to the crew. Inexperienced or new coxes will receive support, training and coaching and are unlikely to be short of crews to practice with!

If you are interested please get in touch with the club.

Clubhouse Heating

Posted by Amanda Jones | October 19, 2010

To all Broxbourne RC Members.  The clubhouse heating has been turned on.  We will be adjusting it over the next few weeks to get the best out of it so please don’t change any of the thermostat settings.  There will be no immediate effect if you do anyway as underfloor heating takes hours to change.  Also as we are keeping the gym cooler than the rest of the building please can you try to keep the internal doors (and of course external doors) closed.

Circuits and Pizza tomorrow night!

Posted by Penny Scorah | October 18, 2010

7pm – Warm up (run/erg) 7.30pm – Circuits starts! Open to all club members and caters for all levels of fitness. Afterward I’ll open up the bar and put some pizzas in the oven. So bring along pizza or money and hopefully there will be enough to go around. A few helpers in the kitchen so I can man the bar would be really helpful. Look forward to seeing lots of you there!

Important Notice re clubhouse use on 9.10.10

Posted by Sarah Gilliver | October 7, 2010

Please note that in order to prepare for the Annual Dinner on saturday evening, the kitchen, gym and bar areas will be OUT OF USE on Saturday. There will be no breakfast this week, so please bring your own refreshments for after Saturday morning training, although there may be limited tea and coffee making facilities in the old clubhouse. While there will be some access to changing rooms and toilets, PLEASE ensure that you take your SHOES OFF at the door, checking that you aren’t bringing any mud into the building, as it will have had a good clean Friday. Sunday morning may also be subject to similar restrictions. Thank you, on behalf of the Social Committee.
