Welcome to the Broxbourne Rowing Club website! We are friendly rowing club with a fine fleet of boats, a fully equipped gym, and a modern, spacious club house with a bar. We row pretty much undisturbed on a delightful stretch of the river Lea. We compete vigorously and successfully in local and national races and welcome all including senior, masters, beginners, juniors and recreational rowers.

If you haven't rowed before, the sport provides full-body outdoor fitness, stimulates your senses and challenges you physically. There are few things as exhilarating as rowing at full pressure in a well synchronised crew. We run regular Learn to Row courses for juniors and adults to set you on your way.

If you are a more experienced rower, you will find a racing crew to meet your aspirations, whether you want to compete at Henley, in the masters world championships, or national and provincial races. Some prefer to enjoy recreational rowing and our touring boats travel far and wide on long weekends away, or compete in pageant-spectaculars like the Great River Race.

We also welcome aspiring and experienced coaches and coxes. These vital members of the club have the opportunity to make a real difference to the crew. Inexperienced or new coxes will receive support, training and coaching and are unlikely to be short of crews to practice with!

If you are interested please get in touch with the club.

Work Day Saturday 14 May 2011

Posted by Becky Bishop | May 9, 2011

This Saturday (14th May 2011) is ‘Work Day Saturday’.

Whilst Andy Kelly and his team of volunteers do a fantastic job at keeping the club running smoothly they can’t do it all. It’s up to all club members to do their bit.

Please stay on after your outing (or come to the club mid-morning if you aren’t rowing ) to help. There are lots of jobs that need doing so even if you only have an hour to spare please do still help!

Wash the boat after your outing!

Posted by Craig Allan | May 8, 2011

There are now buckets, sponges, soap and clean towels by the boathouse door. Everything you need to wash and dry your boat.

Volunteers Needed – May Beginners Course

Posted by Craig Allan | May 5, 2011

The next beginners course starts on May 21st. The usual team of coaches will be there but they need help. Please try and help out for one or more of the eight sessions. I’ll put a sign-up sheet on the notice board. Speak to Chris Moody to find out how you can help out.

Gym usage on Thursday during Senior Women’s 2k test

Posted by Angela Watling | April 20, 2011

Hi All,

The members of the Senior Women’s squad who are competing for a seat in a Henley crew this year will be doing a 2k test tomorrow. I have agreed with the Rowing Committee that the Senior Women can have exclusive use of the gym between 7pm and 7:30pm on Thursday 21 April 2011 for this test.

This 2k test will be a key to helping decide crew line-ups for one of our Wallingford crews. So please can I ask all club members to respect this 30min session and to not disturb the girls whilst they are doing their test.

Thank-you for your understanding.

Angela
